Obituary of Stanley Conklin

Stanley “Butch” Conklin of Huguenot, a life long resident of the area died on February 25, 2025 at Bon Secours Community Hospital.  He was 80 years old.

The son of the late Frederick and Hattie Conklin, he was born on October 2, 1944 in Huguenot, NY. 

Butch was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt, fish, trap, and be at his pond.  He held many positions throughout the years which include having his own business, member of the Local 17, working in his hometown community of Deerpark as a past constable, dog warden and with the highway department.

Those that knew Butch best will recall he enjoyed being around his family and friends, his willingness to always lend a helping hand, his unique sense of humor, and straight forward personality which would leave an impression for life time.  He will be missed by those who loved him.  

In addition to his parents Butch was predeceased in life by his siblings, Marion Degroat, Christopher Conklin, Bert Conklin, Joanne Rake Conklin, Duke Conklin and Caroline Conklin and many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Beloved husband of Kaye Conklin.  Devoted father of Vickie Schafer with her husband Grant, Kim Francios with her husband Steven and Karen Winstedt with her husband Frederick.  Grandfather of Celeste, Grant and Tyler Schafer,  Benjamin and Julianna Francios and Amber Winstedt.  Great grandfather of Nova Lee Nolan.   Stanley was an uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life will be announced at a later date at the convenience of the family. 

Donations may be made to the Humane Society of Port Jervis / Deerpark in Stanley's memory.
