Ellen Shirley Lane of Port Jervis, a homemaker, adored mother, and loving grandmother, died February  7, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Chelsea Taylor. She was 78.

The daughter of Edward Parker Sr. and Shirley M. Padgett. She was born November 4, 1946 in Port Jervis.

In 1966 she married Donald W. Lane, who survives. She was a devoted, loyal wife for 58 years. Ellen was known for her creativity, kindness, and mildness.  Ellen was a faithful member of the Port Jervis Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Ellen is survived by her sons Frederick of Milford, PA; Daniel of Greentown, PA; Steven of Port Jervis; her daughters Tammy Oberheu of Clark’s Summit, PA; and Chelsea Taylor of Port Jervis and their respective mates. She is also survived by her siblings Sharon Lane, Edward Parker Jr., and Lillian Parker Gunderman all of Port Jervis, and her sister-in-law Barbara Duke of Carbondale, PA, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, also many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Ellen was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Lane, daughter-in-law Chanda Lane, and sister Lynn Clifford.

A visitation will take place on Saturday 2/15 from 1 to 3:00PM at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home.  A funeral service will take place 3:00PM at the Funeral Home.  Following services a private cremation will take place.   Final Committal will be in Rural Valley Cemetery, Cuddebackville, NY.
