I met Alberta as one of my patients and instantly became good friends with her because of her stories, her laughter, and the way she loves her family. I would get so excited to see her name on my appointment list and would make sure to be the first one to greet her at the door. She couldn’t wait till I got engaged and kept asking me every visit “Did you get the ring? Do you want me to beat him until he gives it to you?” When I did get engaged, she was the first person I called when I got back to work because I couldn’t wait till she came back to the office. She was so excited, I’m glad she saw my ring before she passed. I hoped she would be at my wedding. I got to sing happy birthday to her last year with flowers. I’m so glad to have met her even though not in the ideal setting. To hear of her passing broke my heart and I’m sorry I couldn’t be at her celebration, I found out too late. May she rest in peace my sassy adopted grandma ❤️
