Melissa Covey of Yulan died suddenly at home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. She was 42.

The daughter of the late Eugene Cyrek, Jr. and the late Donna (Meyer) Brennan, she was born December 21, 1980 in Port Jervis, NY.

She was employed by Catholic Charities of Port Jervis as an Office Manager, and was a member of Pond Eddy United Methodist Church.  She loved the stars and the moon, going for midnight walks and gazing at them.  Melissa loved her daughters more then anything.  

Survived by her daughters Gianna Carlsen of Huguenot, and Kaydence Covey of Manhattan, NY; the love of her life, her fiancé Eric Hofaker of Yulan, NY.  Loving grandmother to Jameson and Grayson. Niece of Carol Cooper, Joann Meyer, Thomasina Pip Cyrek, Melanie DelCore and Adam Cyrek, Sr. Stepdaughter of George Brennan.

Funeral Service, Sunday 1/8/23 at Pond Eddy United Methodist Church at 1:00PM, The Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating.
